Amish boy left horse at Walmart, now what?

From cbsnews.com (CBS/AP) SOUTH RUSSELL, Ohio - An Amish boy's horse needs a new home, after the animal was left behind, found tied up at a Walmart in Middlefield, Ohio.
Humane Officer Christian Courtwright in Geauga County says the teen apparently unhooked the horse from a buggy back in November, tied it to a rail at the superstore and never came back for it.

He says store employees noticed the animal the next day and tended to it until police took it to a caregiver.

The Humane Society nicknamed the horse Wally (get it: Walmart, Wally?)

Courtwright says the humane society now has control of the animal, a 9-year-old standardbred, and expects it to be available for adoption soon.

Kentucky Horse Park offering $ 20 gelding service

I sure wish one of our local horse parks would do a $ 20 gelding service at least once a month so all these unwanted horses wouldn't keep ending up at the Camelot Auction House in NJ being sold for slaughter. Just a thought. If you reside on one of the local equestrian boards for some of the Virginia horse facilities you might want to share this post with them .~ Christina - HorseVA
