We are so blessed to have the Virginia - Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in our area!
I can honestly say that I have never experienced the amazing professionalism and compassion shown to us and our mare Oglala Star (aka Reiny). Not only did they come out yesterday with their team but today they all came out again and brought their Certified Journeyman Farrior Travis Burns (this is the highest level of AFA certification). Travis can get a shoe off in record time when a horse has laminitis and is in a lot of pain like our mare Reiny was today (thank you so much Travis). They fitted Reiny with pads today and we have ordered special medical boots for her to wear. Her back right hoof is the worst and we are praying that we can stop this aweful vascular disease. As you can see in the last photo, the students practiced doing a body condition score on our other two horses so we don't make the same mistake twice.
